A Hot Winter Night In Dallas By Taildragger
This soundboard recording was brought to us by Fort Baxter in 1998. The show's from December 28th, 1976. Although we've heard al lot of 'tired' sounding shows from that era, I have to say this is
definitely not one of them. This show is really great. Elvis is sounding great, his voice is clearly in well shape and the show is full of jokes and nice talks. It's really great to hear Elvis sing with lots of enthousiasm and
spirit here, because 1976 wasn't the best year for him. Trust me on this one, you can't do better in '76 with this show.
Elvis sets the peace already with 'See See Rider' This is Elvis full of energy and enjoying life at the most! 'You Gave Me A Mountain' and 'Jailhouse Rock' are
incomplete unfortunately. But during the Ronnie Tutt drumsolo Elvis surprises evryone by doing a piece of Bo Diddley! Really great to hear him have lots of fun. 'Unchained Melody' is done by Elvis
at the piano, and is a majestic version, really gives me chills to the bone!
Something happens right before Polk Salad Annie on the CD, either the source is not the same, or Polk Salad is from another concert. But there's definitely an edit here!
Nevertheless, this is all I can say about this concert, Elvis in great shape and the sound is great, don't hesitate to buy this one!
